I have been an avid golfer since I was six years old. Golf has not just been a hobby but a tool to hone my leadership and social skills. As a freshman to join the Varisty Golf Team at my high school, I was teased and sometimes treated as a pariah. Group texts with the team would not include myself and I was not helping with being over six feet tall. I knew I had to win over and coax my fellow players. I participated in every social outing and befriended each team member. I eventually earned the position as Team Captain.
